HOW TO USE
Use before moisturizing stage of skincare or to replace moisturizer. Apply 1-2 pumps and massage evenly over face, avoiding eye and lip areas. Pat lightly to aid absorption. Can also be used throughout the day to soothe irritated skin.
I was so excited to start using this as my skin needs some barrier repair however, it broke me out and caused sensitivity/ irritation. I thought it would be quite moisturising as well but my skin still felt dehydrated throughout the day. It does have a very prominent smell which I believe is due to the 10% Tamanu Oil which didn’t bother me but will some people. I have only used it once and I unfortunately will not use again. I’m sick of spending money of products that don’t work and compromise my skins health. Disappointed.
As much as I wanted to love this, as much as I love the other products from Krave, I am afraid to say this serum isn't for me. It broke me out, and I think it was caused by the amount of tamanu oil contained in it.
OMG the first time I used this - it felt like my skin was drinking this up. I didn't realise how much my skins was sore and suffering until I started using this . Love it!
I was super excited about Liah's Krave Beauty brand and bought all 4 of the products. The Great Barrier Relief is a serum that is based with 10% Tamanu Oil. I've never used Tamanu Oil before in my skin care but am very happy with how my skin works with it. I have combination skin and the serum does not make me too oily but provides just enough moisture for my skin so that it is not dry. Because of this, the serum can be used as a moisturiser on its own as well especially for the summer days where thicker creams may be too much for the heat. I love that the Krave Beauty products have naturally derived ingredients and it seems to work fine on sensitive skin as well. I've used it on my boyfriend's skin and he usually has really sensitive skin which gets easily irritated whenever a product doesn't work with his skin. However, it's recommended to use a little bit at first or even mix a little with your moisturiser as your skin may not be used to it. Overall, i've noticed that my skin texture feels and appears smooth and healthy. I also love how some amount of money from purchases of the Great Barrier Relief gets donated to help out the restoration and preservation of the Great Barrier Reef in QLD. Super great product overall, i am happy with the results it has given me over the past 2 weeks of using it. Just a side note, upon first using it - breakouts may occur as your skin may be adjusting to it, but if you persist with usage it'll give you really great results afterwards. My boyfriend and I had small breakouts but after a few days to a week, our skin returned back to a normal but better state.
I LOVE this stuff, I’m only a quarter way through my bottle but I’m already planning on purchasing another one soon so I don’t have to be without it. It’s made a huge difference in my skin, I don’t think this is hydrating enough to use without moisturiser afterwards though :)
